About The Position

Vertical Solutions is hiring a full-time Site Carpenter to build and install custom carpentry and steel for climbing gyms. Projects include feature walls, lockers, and the structures behind climbing walls. Work takes place on active job sites in and around Utah County, often with clients nearby. The role pays $25–$30 per hour depending on experience. The carpenter works independently, adapts to changing job-site needs, and is expected to leave each site clean and organized.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional carpentry experience.
• At least 3 years of on-the-job construction training, an apprenticeship, or an associate degree in construction.
• Confidence reading plans, using measuring tools, and handling materials and equipment.
• Ability to regularly lift 75 or more pounds, remain on your feet all day, and work at heights in any weather.
• Ability to manage time and work independently without close supervision.
• Professional and friendly presence with clients, and clear communication with crew members, the foreman, and vendors.
• Enjoyment of checklists and systems that keep work consistent and organized.

Nice To Haves

• Experience building custom woodwork such as accent walls, furniture, lockers, or cubbies.
• Climbing gym experience.

Responsibilities

• Build, assemble, and install custom carpentry products such as wooden accent walls, furniture, lockers, and cubbies, ensuring they fit and match the surrounding aesthetics.
• Assemble custom wood and steel structures and handle concrete work, demolition, and scaffolding.
• Work at heights using lifts and harnesses, maintaining two points of safety and following rope access standards.
• Operate hand, power, and pneumatic tools, as well as heavy machinery.
• Read printed and digital plans, estimate materials and equipment, and perform quality checks.
• Maintain accurate daily time and materials logs.
• Follow OSHA standards, wear required PPE, and organize the job site using 5S.
• Report to the assigned job site each morning and begin work independently.
• Assist with general labor, including cleanup, inventory, and errands.
