About The Position

This is a part-time position that oversees the day-to-day operations of a drop-off site for County waste. The role is responsible for the smooth traffic flow of the drop-off site, ensuring waste is sorted properly for ultimate disposal, transfer, or sale. The attendant will notify management when waste is ready for pickup and maintain a clean, efficient environment in accordance with local environmental laws and regulations. Additionally, the position assists supervision in organizing recycling for shipping, including tires, batteries, scrap metal, and eWaste, ensuring proper storage, packing, and shipping in accordance with environmental laws. Timely communication with supervision is important.

Requirements

• High school education
• 1 year of experience in a similar environment
• Ability to lift up to 100lbs
• Ability to sit, stoop, crawl, and drive heavy equipment if needed

Responsibilities

• Oversight of the drop-off site, including managing traffic flow and ensuring proper waste sorting for disposal, transfer, or sale.
• Notifying management when waste is ready for pickup and transport.
• Maintaining a clean and efficient environment in compliance with local environmental laws and regulations.
• Assisting supervision in organizing recycling for shipping (tires, batteries, scrap metal, eWaste).
• Properly storing, packing, and shipping recyclable materials in accordance with environmental laws.
• Working closely with supervision and maintaining timely communication.
