The Illinois Department of Natural Resources is seeking to hire a Site Assistant Superintendent 1 at Mackinaw River SFWA. This position will supervise and participate in the maintenance of all site facilities and buildings; coordinate and participate in groundskeeping and landscaping duties such as mowing, and trimming; service and repair equipment and maintain all service equipment records for the site; participate in farming activities; monitor site fuel, vehicles, and complete monthly tracking and reporting of both. The Mackinaw River was acquired in the 1960s by the Parklands Foundation, a Bloomington conservation group, and donated to the state in 1970. It features rolling timbered hills, former farmland, and two miles of river frontage with timbered land, open meadow, agricultural fields, and two interior ponds. This site is bisected by the Mackinaw River, which cuts through the Bloomington Moraine, creating deep ravines and high ridges. We welcome interested and qualified applicants who would like to be part of this team to apply today.
