About The Position

Who We’re Looking For We are currently looking for a Site Administrator for our Special Education High School in Buckeye, AZ. Learn Academy, is hiring a Site Administrator to work in our classrooms. This is a great opportunity to join a growing, interdisciplinary team of professional focused on creating exceptional learning experiences for children in need. In this position, you would oversee and be a part of a private special education day school team. This team works with school districts to deliver the highest-quality services to students with special needs. As a Site Administrator, you will be using your background to support a team of School Psychologists, Special Education Teachers and Behavior Technicians in many facets of our program including; Clinical Program, Curriculum/Instruction, and Special Education Services. You will be supported by an area manager and executive director of the program, a team of several educators and technicians would report to the Site Administrator. Allow Us to Introduce Ourselves LEARN Academy, formerly Desert Choice Schools (DCS) is a state-approved private day school in Arizona, serving students from kindergarten through grade 12. We provide individually tailored services to students with special needs — including autism and emotional and learning disabilities. LEARN Academy is a national leader in special education, academic intervention, and specialized behavioral services. We use a structured program implemented in environments that facilitate functional independence and academic and social success.

Requirements

  • Active and valid School Psychologist or Special Education Teaching Certificate by AZ state
  • Experience working with emotional and/or behaviorally challenged students
  • Collaborate and able to receive to feedback, mentoring and direction from peers and supervisors
  • Maintain a professional and clinical perspective at all times, able to not internalize or personalize (e.g. emotionally) in regards certain student behaviors or mannerisms that occur
  • Must have the strength and dexterity to safely and effectively use Crisis Management Interventions (including the use of therapeutic holds) of all involved (e.g. self, student, other employees

Nice To Haves

  • Management experience preferred
  • PCMA certified is a plus but not required. We can provide PCMA training for you.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborating and maintaining relationships with clients and districts.
  • Managing all Special Education meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with all Special Education policies and procedures.
  • Consulting with staff and district personnel.
  • Manage all enrollment and reintegration activities.
  • Provision of professional development activities for employees.
  • Oversee staffing including performance, and assisting HR with hiring needs.
  • Effective communication with parents and all clientele, ensuring instruction and curricular implementation is aligned with our values, and general supervision of the program.
