About The Position

A general forklift operator is responsible for safely operating a forklift to transport, load, and unload heavy materials within a warehouse or factory, ensuring proper storage and movement of goods by following established safety procedures, performing pre-shift inspections, and maintaining the equipment's cleanliness while adhering to company policies and regulations.

Requirements

• Valid forklift operator certification
• Experience operating Sit-sown forklifts (depending on the workplace)
• Good hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness
• Ability to lift and maneuver heavy objects
• Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
• Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to perform minor maintenance checks
• Physical ability to sit and stand for extended periods, operate controls, and work in a warehouse environment

Responsibilities

• Safely maneuvering a forklift to pick up, transport, and place pallets of goods within the warehouse or designated areas.
• Efficiently loading and unloading cargo from trucks using the forklift.
• Accurately checking and verifying product quantities while moving inventory within the warehouse.
• Stacking pallets in designated storage locations, maintaining proper aisle space and warehouse layout.
• Performing routine pre-shift checks on the forklift, including fluid levels, lights, brakes, and safety features.
• Reporting any mechanical issues or necessary maintenance to the appropriate personnel.
• Adhering to all safety regulations regarding forklift operation, including wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintaining proper visibility while operating.
• Completing necessary paperwork related to inventory tracking, shipment details, and operational logs.
