About The Position

The SIP Superintendent will specialize in various specialties including installation and maintenance of mechanical insulation, sheet metal lagging, scaffolding, industrial coatings, passive fire protection, energy audits and the removal and abatement of asbestos, lead, mold, and other hazardous materials.

Requirements

  • A licensed asbestos abatement professional with comprehensive knowledge of all rules and regulations enforced at the local, state, and federal levels.
  • 10 years of industrial maintenance and/or construction experience.
  • Must pass drug screen and background check, as condition of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified LEED Professional a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to the project team to promote safety, quality, teamwork, respect, and efficiency.
  • Manage a wide range of chemical remediation projects that range in scope and complexity from small cleanups to full decontamination and remediation of entire systems and buildings.
  • Manage the removal and disposal of lead containing materials to meet or exceed EPA and OSHA requirements that may include vacuum blasting, mechanical abrasion, chemical strip, encapsulation, and removal/replacement.
  • Manage a wide array of scaffolding, shoring, and bracing to include expert erection/dismantling that will provide comprehensive solutions to fit access needs and competitive costs to fit budget requirements.
  • Deliver value added scaffolding services that maximize project productivity and meet OSHA compliance requirements.
  • Manage industrial coatings and linings with a full understanding of the various installation techniques in challenging environmental conditions.
  • Manage painting projects with experience specializing in challenging painting projects.
  • Responsible for operating in compliance with the prime contract and Austin internal policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for reporting any safety incidents, near misses, injuries, and quality issues to the Operations Manager, Site or Regional HSE representative.
  • Must be able to perform work wearing personnel protective equipment. Including but not limited to the following: rain gear, chemical protective clothing, supplied air and air purifying respirators, safety harness, sand blast hoods, fire resistant coveralls, hard hat, ear plugs and safety glasses.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have full range of mobility in upper and lower body, able to reach overhead, able to work in various positions, including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, squatting; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; work at heights; balance for extended periods of time.
