About The Position

The SIOP Analyst is a critical role in a commercial HVAC manufacturing environment, responsible for aligning sales, operations, and finance. This position involves developing accurate demand forecasts, translating commercial signals into executable supply plans, and supporting the Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) cycle to ensure optimal customer service, inventory health, and capacity utilization. The ideal candidate should understand the complexities of engineered-to-order and make-to-stock HVAC products, long lead times, seasonal demand patterns, and the interaction between new construction, replacement, and aftermarket demand.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Industrial Engineering, Business Analytics, or related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in SIOP, demand planning, supply planning, or production planning, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, formulas, scenario modeling).
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, Finance, and Engineering.
  • Ability to translate complex data into clear insights and recommendations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in commercial HVAC, engineered manufacturing, or building products.
  • Familiarity with ERP and planning systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Kinaxis, Anaplan, o9, or similar).
  • Understanding of make-to-order (MTO), engineer-to-order (ETO), and configure-to-order (CTO) environments.
  • Knowledge of SIOP / IBP best practices and financial integration.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and analyze monthly and weekly demand forecasts for commercial HVAC products, including chillers, rooftop units, air handlers, controls, and aftermarket components.
  • Incorporate sales pipeline data, project backlogs, historical trends, seasonality, and market intelligence into demand planning assumptions.
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Product Management to review forecast changes related to large projects, bid activity, and regional demand shifts.
  • Translate approved demand plans into supply, production, and capacity plans across manufacturing plants and external suppliers.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Procurement to identify capacity constraints, labor limitations, and material risks (e.g., compressors, coils, electronics).
  • Support scenario modeling for capacity trade-offs, overtime, outsourcing, and inventory positioning.
  • Monitor finished goods, WIP, and critical component inventory to balance service levels, working capital, and obsolescence risk.
  • Analyze inventory drivers such as seasonality, factory lead times, and product transitions (new introductions and end-of-life models).
  • Support safety stock and SKU rationalization initiatives.
  • Prepare materials for monthly SIOP meetings, including demand/supply variance analysis, risks, and recommended actions.
  • Track adherence to the agreed-upon SIOP plan and highlight gaps between plan vs. actual performance.
  • Support continuous improvement of SIOP processes, calendars, and decision frameworks.
  • Develop dashboards and KPIs related to forecast accuracy, service levels, inventory turns, backlog, and capacity utilization.
  • Perform root-cause analysis on forecast bias, production misses, and customer delivery issues.
  • Support long-range planning activities such as annual operating plans and capacity investment planning.
