Simulations Maritime Engineer
About The Position
Thompson Gray is seeking a highly skilled Simulations Maritime Engineer to support its efforts in coordinating, overseeing and delivering advanced simulation, testing, and training solutions for military operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in supporting efforts involving Army simulations programs, along with test and evaluation experience in environments working with ATEC (Army Test and Evaluation Command) and other Army stakeholders. An Agile certification is also highly desirable for this role. Travel will be required to support developmental testing and training events. Occasional telework may be authorized IAW customer's requirements.
Requirements
- 10+ years of relevant test and evaluation experience, or 5+ years of experience with a Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field.
- Working understanding of hardware and software development, integration, test, and assessment life cycles.
- Active SECRET clearance (mandatory).
- Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities, particularly in high-stakes, mission-critical systems.
- Ability to work in a classified environment.
- Strong analytical and technical writing skills for producing evaluation reports.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team, including with military personnel.

- DAWIA Level 3 - Test & Evaluation
- Experience in both classified and unclassified network testing environments.
- Experience with defense-related Test & Evaluation policies and standards.
- Knowledge of automated testing tools and methods for network systems.
- Experience with the development of comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test reports.
- Agile Certification (Scrum Master, Agile Practitioner, etc.).
- Proven expertise in network monitoring, performance optimization, network protocols, IP addressing, subnetting, and network security.
- Demonstrated experience in ATEC environments, with knowledge extending beyond ATEC to broader testing methodologies.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a Simulations Maritime Engineer and advise on technical oversight of assigned programs.
- Coordinate with various key stakeholders to assist with administering testing procedures and writing detailed technical reports.
- Participate in engineering working groups and other IPTs in order to coordinate with stakeholders and developer efforts to effectively ensure a thorough and complete T&E process.
- Assist with test and evaluation efforts across mission-critical systems, ensuring systems meet required performance standards.
- Implement and manage testing protocols focused on redundancy, scalability, and performance optimization.
- Develop detailed reports and recommendations based for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with DoD security protocols and testing standards.
