This role focuses on building simulation-ready assets and scenes for robotics simulation, evaluation, and synthetic data generation. The Simulation Technical Artist will be responsible for converting various 3D model formats into clean, usable assets for simulation environments, ensuring accuracy in scale, hierarchy, topology, materials, collision geometry, joints, metadata, and physical properties. The position also involves 3D scanning, reconstruction, cleanup, and retopology, as well as creating and maintaining asset libraries. A key aspect of the role is debugging asset issues that impact simulation accuracy and collaborating with various teams to define quality standards and workflows. Additionally, the role requires building tools and scripts to automate asset processing and validation.
