About The Position

This opportunity resides with Global Security (GS). Mission Technologies’ Global Security (GS) group comprises live, virtual, constructive (LVC) solutions; fleet sustainment; nuclear and environmental; and Australia business. As a trusted partner to our military customers, HII designs, develops and operates the largest LVC enterprise that prepares warfighters for cross-domain battle. With advanced technologies to enable mission readiness, HII understands that preparation requires full coordination—not readiness in piece-parts. For more than 40 years, the U.S. Navy has entrusted HII to maintain and modernize the vast majority of its fleet. With a holistic approach to life-cycle maritime defense systems—from small watercraft to submarines, surface combatants and aircraft carriers—HII ensures a high state of readiness. HII supports the Department of Energy’s national security mission through the management and operation of its sites, as well as the safe cleanup of legacy waste across the country. HII meets clients’ toughest nuclear and environmental challenges. Leadership Mindset at HII – Mission Technologies Leadership at HII is a mindset, not a title. • Background with distributed simulation middleware such as DIS, HLA, or DDS.
  • Experience modeling or integrating 5th‑generation fighter mission systems, avionics, sensor fusion, or LO synthetic behaviors.
  • Current DoD TS/SCI clearance or active SAP/SAR accesses.
  • Experience optimizing performance in high‑fidelity, real‑time synthetic environments.

Responsibilities

  • Provide on‑site support for the 31st Combat Training Squadron’s JSE training systems at Nellis AFB.
  • As a member of the JSE Engineering Team, you will focus on the troubleshooting, configuration, optimization, and development of the F‑22 and/or F‑35 FIAB for advanced synthetic test and training environments within JSE at the JITTC‑N.
  • Support daily FIAB operations by monitoring system performance and ensuring stable execution within JSE.
  • Troubleshoot FIAB issues by reviewing FIAB source code and/or JSE Platform Plugin (JPP) source code.
  • Integrate FIAB mission‑system models, sensor models, software interfaces, and avionics behaviors into the JSE simulation environment.
  • Develop enhancements, resolve defects, and optimize FIAB software performance within distributed or real‑time simulation architectures.
  • Integrate FIAB capabilities with other JSE and non‑JSE platforms across synthetic training and test environments.
  • Assist with accurately documenting, reporting, and tracking deficiencies related to FIAB and JPP components.
