As a Simulation Software Engineer, you will shape the simulation software stack, including framework performance, flight dynamics modeling, hardware emulation, and simulation-based test infrastructure. You will lead projects to develop a robust, deterministic, and scalable simulation framework that accelerates testing of safety-critical systems. Working with flight software, guidance/navigation/control, and hardware test engineers, you will expand the simulation system and improve its core architecture, performance, reproducibility, and flexibility. You will evaluate and drive key project decisions and mentor team members. The role is part of the Simulation and Test Systems team, which builds infrastructure for developing, testing, and deploying autonomous aircraft software. The work involves hardware-in-the-loop test environments, a high-fidelity physics simulation stack, and cloud-based Monte Carlo infrastructure to support extensive flight-equivalent testing for aviation product certification. These systems provide feedback on system behavior across varied flight plans, environmental conditions, and system faults. Travel of up to 10% is required. The estimated salary range is $215,000 to $300,000 annually, plus cash and stock option awards and benefits. Employment is contingent on the ability to comply with U.S. export control laws; applicants must provide documentation establishing their U.S. person or non-U.S. person status and, where applicable, nationalities.
