1X is building humanoid robots designed to work in homes, handling chores and tasks to give people their time back. This requires solving complex problems in robotics, AI, and manufacturing simultaneously and at scale, with a product safe enough for family life. The Simulation team is crucial in enabling faster, smarter engineering decisions by creating accurate digital representations of the NEO robot and its subsystems. They develop models and tools for predicting performance, understanding failure modes, and optimizing designs before hardware is built. This role involves close collaboration with mechanical, controls, electrical, and systems engineers to reduce development risk, accelerate iteration cycles, and ensure robot reliability, efficiency, and production readiness. The Simulation Engineer will develop and own simulation capabilities to guide critical engineering decisions, optimize performance, validate designs, reduce risk, and improve reliability across various robot subsystems. The work involves transforming complex physical systems into predictive engineering models for faster development and better products.
