Requirements

  • BSN with graduate degree in related field, or Master of Nursing degree (those near graduation will be considered)
  • Two years of relevant professional level experience in simulation education
  • Five years clinical experience
  • Current RN license in Minnesota

Nice To Haves

  • Teaching experience in pre-licensure programs
  • Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE)

Responsibilities

  • Develops simulation-based educational activities, scenarios, and other learning initiatives reflective of the mission of the Susan S. Morrison School of Nursing and Morrison College of Health and in congruence with program and course student learning outcomes.
  • Manages all aspects of simulation activities, including but not limited to set up, reset, facilitation of simulation activities including role play, simulator operation, instruction, debriefing and orientation for participants.
  • Provides coaching and mentoring for professional development of Center for Simulation staff and Susan S. Morrison faculty who support, facilitate, or co-facilitate simulation-based activities.
  • Provides feedback to course faculty about student performance for the purpose of formative and summative evaluations.
  • Partners with the Assistant Director of Nursing Simulation Education to plan and evaluate outcomes for strategic operations and accreditation.
  • Maintains proficiency in existing and emerging trends in the use of simulation in healthcare education, including theory, design, and implementation through networking, literature reviews and professional development opportunities, including active participation in regional, national and international simulation organizations.
