About The Position

Rocky Vista University in Englewood, CO has an opening for a Simulation Coordinator (Full-Time). The primary purpose of this role is to provide support in the design, development, implementation, training, and evaluation of simulation events. The Simulation Coordinator will work closely with the Associate Director or Director of simulation to provide comprehensive teaching to students, residents, faculty and other users of the Simulation Center. Requirements

  • Ability to learn, operate, and manage the EMS program and other software.
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited institution in a health-related, educational, or other applicable field, or a combination of education and directly relevant work experience.
  • Ability to orally communicate effectively with others.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing, using the English language.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues and supervisory staffs at all levels.
  • Final applicant will be required to pass background check and drug screening.

Nice To Haves

  • Two (2) years' experience in medical environment or simulation.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee simulated patient encounters, including preparation of learning environments, delivery of training, and provision of feedback to both students and simulated patients.
  • Manages room setup and computer configuration to support encounter observation and review.
  • Obtain familiarity with operation and maintenance of task trainers such as CutSuit and others for Surgical Simulation.
  • Assist with set-up of simulated events for all programs at RVU, both intra- and extra-curricular.
  • Be responsible for surgical inventory and ordering of supplies.
  • Develop familiarity with the operation and maintenance of various simulation manikins.
  • Assist with set-up and execution of simulated manikin events of all programs, both intra- and extra-curricular.
  • Coordinate and facilitation for all aspects of training and exams/events for simulated events including scheduling, room set up in collaboration and under the direction of the Associate Director or Director.
  • Coordinate aspects of the EMS system (or other software programs), including entering case material, checklists and post-encounter forms, all details for creating simulation sessions, monitoring and troubleshooting during sessions, entering of student and other data, and maintenance and security of the system.
  • Maintain secure and organized system for retention of students’ records pertaining to all simulation activities.
  • Assist in the planning, development and growth of the Office of Simulation in Medicine and Surgery.
  • Run simulation activities with students, faculty and others.
  • Track inventory and order supplies for the Office.
  • Copies and collates simulation event materials.
  • Assist in the maintenance of SIMS Web Site materials.
