The Simulation Actor Specialist, reporting to the Simulation Lab Supervisor, supports Standardized Patient Simulations primarily through acting, administrative tasks, and day-to-day operational activities. This position involves scheduling, planning, developing, programming, and executing simulation scenarios for programs within the School of Nursing and Patient Support. Responsibilities include managing technical infrastructure, troubleshooting equipment and applications, and operating high-fidelity healthcare mannequins as necessary. Additionally, the role provides technical support to students, faculty, and other staff, assists in integrating actor scenarios into the educational curriculum, and ensures safety, confidentiality, and compliance with academic policies. The specialist is also responsible for database management related to performance metrics, participating in professional development, and staying informed about emerging technologies such as Extended Reality (XR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
