The Simulated Patient Program Coordinator is responsible for the comprehensive management of the Simulated Patient (SP) Program and provides logistic and operational support for simulation events. This role recruits, trains, and manages individuals from the local community —who portray clinical scenarios, enabling medical students to practice essential interviewing, physical examination, and communication skills. The coordinator serves as the primary liaison among faculty, staff, learners, and SPs to ensure simulation activities are realistic, standardized, and directly aligned with educational objectives. As the lead SP trainer, this role oversees case portrayal accuracy, inter-rater reliability, and program operations—including budget tracking, administrative documentation, and SP compensation processes—in full alignment with ASPE Standards of Best Practice (SOBP) and International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning (INACSL) Standards of Best Practice.
