About The Position

WACKER is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern to join its Silicones Engineering team in Charleston. The internship offers hands-on experience in the HDK® fumed silica production area, professional development opportunities, and exposure to real-world projects. The intern will support production-area trials and documentation, contribute to team activities, and complete a project presentation at the end of the 12-week program. The position requires full-time, in-person availability Monday through Friday.

Requirements

Be a rising sophomore or higher pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering.
Be available full-time in person, Monday through Friday, for the 12-week program.
Ability to follow safety procedures and maintain confidentiality.
Excellent communication and analytical skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Eagerness to learn and take initiative.
Ability to work legally in the United States on a permanent unrestricted basis; visa sponsorship is not available.

Responsibilities

Support trials and compile data for reactor raw material trials.
Develop and update control documents for HDK® Reaction.
Support team members in developing and updating HDK® Packaging bills of materials and ITPMs.
Attend team meetings and contribute ideas.
Prepare reports, presentations, or documentation as needed.
Create and present a project presentation at the end of the internship.
Perform other duties as assigned.
