About The Position

Highway Specialties is an established and growing Northwest leader in traffic control safety equipment sales and rentals. As a Sign Production Trainee, you will fabricate, assemble, install and repair road, highway, traffic, and information signs. This role involves maintaining communication with other departments regarding production expectations, learning applicable territory sign standards and regulations, and using best judgment to design sign proofs for distribution. You will also provide options and advise Customer Service and/or customers on design suggestions or changes, print, lay out, and manufacture signs, and repair or re-sheet signs per customer specifications. Additionally, you will recommend supply purchases, receive and put away products, perform basic maintenance and repairs on printing supplies, technology, and tools, and maintain a clean and organized shop. You will also learn the basic operations of all equipment that Highway Specialties rents and/or sells, support the team through organization and strong communication, and provide quick action on time-sensitive issues. The role also includes gaining product knowledge and learning industry terms. Other duties include performing inventory counts, assisting customers with order pickups and product returns, creating customer relationships, and other assigned duties.

Responsibilities

Maintain communication with other departments around production expectations.

Prints, lays out, and manufactures signs for customers.
Repairs, re-sheets, re-legends signs per customer specifications.
Recommends purchase of supplies; receives and puts away products.
Performs basic maintenance and repairs of printing supplies, technology, and tools.
Maintains clean and organized shop, will call area, supplies, and tool inventory.
Learns the basic operations of all equipment that Highway Specialties rents and or sells.
Supports team by performing tasks related to organization and strong communication.
Provides quick action on time-sensitive issues.
Gains product knowledge and learns industry terms.
Performs inventory counts.
Assists customers picking up orders and returning products.
Creates customer relationships.
Other duties as assigned.
