About The Position

Under the general supervision of the Supervisor or Lead, this role installs new signs and services existing signs efficiently and within budget. The job involves reviewing blueprints, preparing materials, determining installation procedures, and assembling and installing products using various tools and heavy equipment. Maintenance and repair of existing signs, completion of paperwork, and adherence to safety guidelines are also key aspects of the role. The position requires interaction with customers, installation helpers, apprentices, engineers, production staff, and other departments.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED and six or more years of relevant experience involving demonstrated abilities in construction including welding, operation of heavy equipment, crane and forklift, power tools, electrical experience, and reading blueprints and work orders; or any combination of training, education and experience which provides the following knowledge, abilities, and skills.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and coordinate multiple work activities to meet critical deadlines, as well as working independently.
  • Ability to deal effectively and tactfully with a wide variety of individuals in person, via telephone and in writing.
  • Ability to operate computer, telephone, and other office equipment.
  • Knowledge of electrical installation (NEC codes, etc.).
  • Knowledge of LED lighting and signaling systems.
  • Excellent basic math skills.
  • Strong work ethic with an enthusiastic, positive attitude, and the highest level of integrity.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Maintain regular and timely attendance.
  • Valid Class B CDL License.
  • Ability to climb, crawl, bend, lift 50 pounds and operate heavy equipment.

  • Specific vision abilities include: clarity of vision at 20 inches or less; ability to adjust eye to bring an object into sharp focus.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews blueprints, identifies and prepares necessary materials and supplies for sign installation.
  • Determines layout and installation procedures and measures and marks guidelines to be used for installations.
  • Drives trucks to transport sign materials to installation sites and loads and unloads trucks with supplies and equipment.
  • Assembles and installs products utilizing hand and power tools, operating heavy equipment.
  • May require scaffolding erection and other work platforms.
  • Performs maintenance and repair to existing signs.
  • Completes paperwork for installations and service work.
  • Follows all safety guidelines and regulations.
  • Obtains completed work sign-off from customers.
  • Cleans and maintains equipment.
  • Performs other functions as necessary or as assigned.
