About The Position

The Boeing Company, Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a highly skilled Payload System Engineer (Expert) in El Segundo, California, with extensive experience with SIGINT systems to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, development, and integration of advanced systems for various airborne and space missions. This role requires a deep understanding of SIGINT sensor technologies, data processing, system operation, mission requirements and SIGINT system architecture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • Typically, 20 or more years' related work experience
  • Experience in design, integration, and testing of SIGINT systems
  • Extensive experience with sensor technologies, data acquisition, and data processing techniques
  • Experience with communication systems and data transmission protocols
  • Experience with software tools for simulation and modeling of sensor systems
  • Successful candidates for this job must satisfy the Company’s Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.
  • This position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
  • This position requires a current Tier 5 (T5), formerly known as a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) (U.S. Citizenship required) or requires candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Evaluation program.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of SIGINT systems, ensuring compliance with mission requirements and specifications
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sensor and data processing systems
  • Conduct performance analysis and testing of system, including environmental testing and data validation
  • Develop documentation related to design, testing, and operational procedures
  • Stay current with advancements in SIGINT systems and recommend improvements to existing systems
  • Participate in project planning, risk assessment, and management activities
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and team members
