About The Position

Siemens Gamesa Certified Wind Turbine Troubleshooters are needed for immediate hire. This role involves identifying common, recurring, and major component faults on newly operational Siemens G145 wind turbine generators. Responsibilities include traveling to various wind farm sites across the U.S. and Canada, troubleshooting hydraulics, electrical, and mechanical systems to ensure operational functionality, and developing advanced troubleshooting skills on-site in collaboration with others. The role may also involve performing maintenance tasks, leading small teams, and being accountable for their safety, competency, and productivity. Additionally, the position requires keeping records, maintaining documentation, reporting technical and safety issues, and adhering to company safety policies. There may be opportunities to assist with or perform component replacements, retrofits, and other special assignments. Continuous development of wind maintenance skills through on-the-job training and training others is expected, along with working safely, competently, and productively under direction.

Requirements

3+ years of successful experience troubleshooting Siemens Gamesa G114, G126, G132, SG145 or Vestas 3.X or 4.X wind turbines.
Citizen of or eligible to travel to and work in Canada for extended periods of time (valid passport required).
Ability to work an 8-week on, 1 week off rotation.
Physically capable of meeting strenuous job requirements, including climbing ladders 2+ times per day up to 300 feet (90 meters), bending, crawling, stooping, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
Willingness and ability to travel extensively, including by air and ground transportation, often on short notice, and to spend extended periods away from home at project sites.
Ability to drive or travel up to 11 hours per day when required.
Able to work safely in outdoor environments under both extreme heat and cold conditions.
Good vision (with corrective lenses if necessary) to perform detailed inspections, read instructions, and safely operate equipment.
Solid knowledge of hydraulics and electrical systems.
Maintenance experience, including knowledge of using grease guns, filter changes, using ERAD system, doing torquing and tensioning and similar service.
Valid and current driving license with a satisfactory driving record.
Must be 21 years of age to be able to drive a company vehicle.
Must be able to proficiently read, write and speak English.
Satisfactory criminal background check.
GWO BST (Basic Safety Training) - fire awareness, working at heights, manual handling, first aid.
GWO BTT (Basic Technical Training) - electrical, hydraulic, mechanical.
SGRE Basic Technician Training/Troubleshooter certified (Family 3 preferred).
OSHA 10 General Industry.
Applicable Siemens Gamesa Technical eLearning.
Crane, Chain Hoist and Rigging Safety Training.
NFPA 70E Arc-Flash Awareness.

Nice To Haves

Prefer training or experience with Touchscreen Controller Hand Terminals.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot problems on systems where duly trained/certified, including hydraulics, electrical and mechanical to ensure wind turbine and generator is operational and functioning properly.
Develop advanced troubleshooting knowledge and skills on site in collaboration with other competent individuals.
May perform maintenance tasks.
Lead small teams; accountable for the safety, competency and productivity of individuals assigned to them.
Keep records, maintains documentation and reports technical, safety issues and difficulties as required by company policy.
Maintain and follows safety procedures as required by company policy.
May assist or perform component replacement, retrofits, and other special assignments.
Continue to develop and expand wind maintenance skillset through on-the-job training and train others in performing service work.
Work safely, competently and productively under the direction of others.
