About The Position
Sureway Construction is one of Alberta’s largest heavy construction contractors, involved in civil earthworks and grading, utilities and offsite, mine operation and aggregate extraction. This is a full-time, seasonal position based in Fort McMurray and surrounding areas. The schedule involves 10+ hours per day, with a 6 days on, 1 day off rotation. Overtime is paid after 8 hours per day or 44 hours per week. Options for living accommodations and daily allowances are available.
Requirements
- Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience as a Side Hoe operator.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in underground services.
- Personal Reliable Vehicle
- CSA approved steel toed boots with 6” ankle support
- Ability to work in physically demanding conditions
- Hard-working, reliable, flexible with schedule
Responsibilities
- Safe operation of a Side Excavator as it pertains to stripping, ditching, sloping, leveling.
- Operate Side Excavator in close proximity to ground personnel and other equipment.
- Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.
