About The Position

The Shuttle/Yard Driver is responsible for maintaining safe Shuttle/Yard operations while following all company and legal operating procedures. This role involves managing yard operations, moving trailers between warehouses, and ensuring adherence to safety and food safety regulations.

Requirements

  • Ability to learn and identify different products, bottles, caps and labels.
  • Ability to learn how to read the daily production schedule.
  • HS Diploma or equivalent.
  • CDL Training.
  • Must be able to attend all job related training classes to increase job knowledge and improve job performance.
  • Ability to read and understand standard operating procedures and customer specifications.
  • Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts using calculator.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Data entry ability a plus.
  • CDL License and ICC Medical Card.
  • Regularly required to talk and hear.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, sit and use hands to finger, handle or feel.
  • Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close visions and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety, food safety, & Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) rules and regulations.
  • Perform daily inspection of tractor at the start of each shift.
  • Responsible for running and maintaining Verona yard operations including warehouse, plant, and bottle trailers.
  • Direct the shuttle drivers to proper trailers to move the trailers between warehouses.
  • Remove fully loaded trailers and secure trailer by closing and locking the trailer doors.
  • Properly execute (Commonwealth Handling Equipment Pool) CHEP pallet procedures.
  • Responsible for chocking wheels when dock restraints are not available.
  • Report all accidents and/or damage to tractors and trailers immediately to Warehouse Supervisor.
  • Travel between Blawnox and Verona warehouses using either Oakmont or Highland Park Bridges completing a minimum of 6 round trips per 8 hour shift.
  • Move trailers between annex and warehouse.
  • Work closely with Verona Warehouse Supervisor, Blawnox Warehouse Supervisor, and plant personnel.
  • Identify issues and communicate them promptly to the Fleet & Warehouse Manager for assistance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
