About The Position

The Van Driver (VD) operates the hotel van to and from guest destinations in a safe and courteous manner. As an airport hotel, maintain a strong commitment to transportation excellence by ensuring airline crew members and guests are picked up and dropped off safely, efficiently, and within required service time standards. Prompt and reliable transportation is an essential function of this position and directly impacts guest satisfaction, airline partnerships, and hotel performance.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent required.
Valid driver's license required.
Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English; other languages beneficial.
Professional verbal and written communication skills.
Frequently standing, walking, bending, climbing, kneeling, and moving about the facility.
Ability to carry, lift, push, or pull items weighing up to 100 pounds.
Frequently handling objects, equipment, luggage, and guest supplies.
Must be dependable, punctual, and able to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced airport hotel environment.
Will be required to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

One year of previous hotel experience or retail customer service preferred.
Previous background from the extended stay industry preferred.

Responsibilities

Deliver on the promise of Sonesta Service in all interactions with guests and clients according to the Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards.
Respond to all guest requests for shuttle service in a prompt and courteous manner; assist guests with luggage while boarding and off-loading vehicle.
Operate vehicle in accordance with state laws; observe all airport rules pertaining to the shuttle vehicles.
Explain and promote hotel facilities, outlets and services to guests and provide information regarding local attractions and activities.
Perform daily inspection of vehicles; take necessary action to correct deficiencies or unsafe conditions; keep vehicle clean and neat at all times.
Maintain vehicle mileage log.
Regularly inspect and clear hotel entrance and surrounding areas of litter and debris.
Maintain the appearance of the hotel's front entrance by picking up trash, sweeping as needed, and ensuring a clean and welcoming arrival experience for guests.
Clean lobby and entrance windows and glass doors to maintain a professional appearance.
Assist with restocking the hotel market, grab-and-go area, guest amenities, and bottled water supplies throughout the property.
Restock guest water stations and other designated hospitality items as needed.
Deliver guest requests, amenities, packages, and other items to guest rooms in a timely and professional manner.
Provide operational support to the Front Desk as needed, including answering hotel telephone calls, assisting guests with inquiries, transferring calls, and supporting guest service initiatives.
Assist in housekeeping and/or laundry duties to include house attendant rounds and the washing, drying, and folding of hotel laundry.
Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other shifts and departmental management.
Ensure guest special requests are fulfilled and proper delivery of guest services is delivered.
Ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws regarding health and safety.
Perform other duties as assigned.
