This role operates a truck in a safety manner to deliver company transfers and customer orders, manually loads/unloads the truck, verifies parts unloaded, obtains signatures from the receiving location confirming accuracy of parts unloaded, and brings returns back to the warehouse. The position requires driving a truck to transfer product between locations, wholesaler and drop box locations in outlying markets. The driver may load the truck according to safety standards and to ensure product integrity, verify the condition of the truck, the manifest and other paperwork associated with the delivery. After driving to the destination, the driver will physically unload the truck, verify parts unloaded, obtain a signature of the receiving location, confirming the accuracy of parts shown on the order and those received, and sign off on the integrity of what was loaded at the location. The driver will make proper notations on the manifest or provide credit memos on parts being returned to the locations, wholesalers and drop boxes. The driver will also pick up stock purchase orders or buy out purchase orders from vendors on vendor “fill in” purchase orders and bring parts back to the location. A check-in process is completed upon returning to the location to verify parts and paperwork, and all paperwork is turned in after check-in. The role requires compliance with established company policies and procedures, and initiation and support of the continual improvement of LKQ’s quality improvement program. The driver may operate a tractor-trailer that requires a CDL Class A License (EZ Driver License in Canada). The role also includes passing random drug testing as required and successful completion of annual training as assigned. The driver must operate in compliance with applicable rules and regulations set forth by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. The driver will work with a Loader Operator to stage cars or pull cars in the yard properly. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 1+ years of related experience required
  • 1+ years of driving and warehouse experience.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
  • Must qualify for Corporate insurance programs, including vehicle insurance.
  • Must meet Department of Transportation (DOT) testing and physical requirements and be knowledgeable of DOT regulations.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must comply with state and local mandated requirements as well as Department of Transportation (“DOT”) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (“FMCSA”) regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • CDL A License (or EZ Driver License in Canada)
  • Forklift certified.
