About The Position

The CDL A Shuttle Driver drives tractor-trailers carrying products such as meat, produce, frozen foods, and dry goods to and from remote dispatch sites. The role focuses on transporting freight safely and efficiently and may also involve backhaul or delivery work when needed. Drivers inspect vehicles before and after trips, verify freight, and check trailer temperatures. The position is based in Syracuse, New York, and follows a Sunday-through-Thursday overnight schedule, with start times between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. Drivers start at $33.52 per hour, with daily overtime after eight hours. Benefits begin on day one.

Requirements

Register with the FMCSA Clearinghouse.
Be at least 21 years of age.
Hold a valid CDL Class A issued by the state of legal residence, with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications.
Have at least 6 months of commercial driving experience.
Be comfortable working overnight.
Be able to read and communicate in English, including holding a conversation, understanding highway traffic signs and signals, responding to official inquiries, and entering information on reports and records.
Be able to lift, carry, push, pull, and lower 20 to 80+ pounds of product repetitively during each shift.
Work in inclement weather with frequent stops, including 10 or more stops per shift.
Be comfortable working in temperatures as low as 0 degrees.
Continuously grasp and manipulate objects, and frequently sit, stand, walk, drive, climb, balance, stoop, squat, kneel, bend, reach above the shoulder, twist, and use manual dexterity.

Nice To Haves

Doubles endorsement and at least 6 months of driving with doubles endorsements preferred.
Ability to operate a manual transmission preferred; it may be required at specific locations.
