About The Position

Tessera is seeking an experienced and reliable Shuttle/Bus Driver with a professional attitude. The driver will operate larger bus assignments, perform operations, and provide community support as needed. This role involves driving shuttle buses, cargo vans, and buses to transport trainees, government, and/or military personnel according to an assigned schedule. The driver may assist disabled passengers, perform cargo delivery, and is responsible for the preventative maintenance, cleaning, and fueling of assigned vehicles. A neat and clean appearance is expected at all times.

Requirements

• Valid CDL-B with passenger endorsement is required.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance company.
• Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles is required.
• Candidate must meet federal guidelines to be considered for this position - Department of Transportation (DOT) pre-employment drug screening, medical examination certification, and cleared query with the FMCSA Clearinghouse is required.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances as background checks will be conducted for this position.
• Must possess or be able to obtain a valid US Government Motor Vehicle Operator’s Identification Card.
• Access to a federal military installation requires a REAL ID-compliant driver's license or an acceptable alternative, such as a U.S. passport or military ID, in accordance with the REAL ID Act.
• Must be able to pass an initial physical examination.
• Must have effective oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.

Nice To Haves

• Tractor trailer driving experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drives shuttle bus, cargo vans, and buses to transport trainees, government, and/or military personnel.
• Drives the vehicle from individual or central loading areas to training locations, job sites, or another destination according to the assigned schedule.
• May assist disabled passengers in or out of the vehicle.
• Performs cargo delivery as assigned.
• Performs preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.
• Cleans the vehicle and services the vehicle with fuel.
• Shall always present a neat and clean appearance in accordance with the SOW.
