The Shuttle Driver safely operates a truck to deliver company transfers and customer orders between locations, wholesalers, and drop box locations in outlying markets. The driver may load the truck, manually unload deliveries, verify parts and paperwork, obtain receiving signatures, document returns, and bring returned parts back to the warehouse. The role may involve driving a tractor-trailer requiring a CDL Class A license (or an EZ Driver License in Canada), as well as working with a Loader Operator to stage or pull cars in the yard. The driver is responsible for following company policies and procedures, applicable Department of Transportation and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration rules, and safety requirements. The position requires passing random drug tests and completing annual assigned training. It is not responsible for supervising employees. The work involves driving for most of the workday, sitting and driving for extended periods of up to 12 hours, daily delivery travel, and potentially extensive overnight travel. Physical activities may include operating machinery, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, reaching, climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and lifting up to 75 pounds. The employee may encounter fuel or exhaust contaminants, cramped workspaces, awkward positions, extreme temperatures or lighting, and high noise levels; personal protective equipment may occasionally be needed.
