About The Position

We are seeking Shuttle Drivers to operate in Hamden, CT. This is a local, steady route, transporting college students and faculty members for Quinnipiac University. The position is for a full-time driver working weekdays from 3pm to 10:30pm, with potential for weekend hours. The vehicles are newer 25-passenger shuttles with wheelchair lifts, which are cleaned and maintained regularly. Full-time employees are eligible for health and dental insurance after 90 days (50/50 split) and paid vacation after one year. There are opportunities for advancement within the company.

Requirements

Must be over 20 years of age due to insurance requirements
Customer service experience is a must
A valid CT license with a CDL with a passenger endorsement is required
A valid medical card is also required
Background checks, SORI checks, drug and driving tests will be conducted

Responsibilities

Greeting patrons in a polite manner and assisting them in any way we can
Safely shuttling customers to various destinations
Opening and closing doors for patrons
Adhering to all traffic laws/signs to ensure the safest possible operation of our shuttles
Communicating effectively with customers and co-workers. This includes radio contact with management, shuttle drivers, and lot attendants
Completing required pre-trip inspections to meet federal as well as company safety requirements
Recording passenger counts and trip times
Completing necessary paperwork involved in daily operations
Assisting in equipment set up and break down (i.e. signs, cones, etc.)
Sweeping shuttles and removing debris to ensure cleanliness
Filling in as a lot attendant when needed
Communicating mechanical problems with shuttles to management
Complying with company procedures for shuttle operations
Operate wheelchair lift as needed, and secure chairs with tie-downs as needed
