About The Position

Romark, a premier logistics provider founded in 1954, is seeking a Shuttle Driver with a CDL Class A. The company focuses on innovation and technology, including robotics and automation, to deliver best-in-class service to major consumer packaged goods, pharmaceutical, and retail companies. This position involves local runs with the benefit of being home daily. The available shift is Wednesday 12 am-6 pm and Wednesday-Friday 6 pm-6 am. The role requires the ability to perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, adhere to DOT regulations, perform minor repairs and maintenance on trucks and trailers, add fluids, fuel trailers, operate refrigerated trailers, communicate effectively with drivers and customers, work irregular schedules including mandatory weekend overtime, and collaborate with other departments. The driver will also operate Material Handling Equipment for loading and adjust the Yard Management System to track trailer movements. The primary duty involves moving trailers for loading/unloading and transporting them over public roadways.

Requirements

Class A CDL
3-5 years of experience in a truck driving role with a proven track record of similar duties.
Experience in driving both manual and automatic transmission trucks.
Strong communication skills both orally and written.
Significant attention to details in safety, record keeping, logging and inspections.
Basic ability to use a tablet computer and software applications.
Ability to frequently lift 35 lbs to 50 lbs and up to 75 lbs occasionally.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Able to work in adverse weather conditions.
Must be able to do pre-trip and post-trip inspections on trucks and trailers.
Must be able to do minor repairs to trucks/trailers, to keep all equipment running during the shift.
Must be able to add fluids to keep trucks maintained, with no assistance.
Fuel trailers as needed on the yard.
Understand and operate refrigerated trailers.
Must be able to communicate with other drivers and work with irregular schedules.
Must be able to clearly communicate with customer and carry out the assigned task.
Must be able to clearly communicate problems with equipment to the fleet coordinator.
Must be able to work with other departments in the company to accomplish task in these departments.
Must be able to drive Material Handling Equipment to pick and load trucks during off-shift orders.
Must make adjustments in the Yard Management System to clearly show trailer moves throughout the shift.
Move trailers for loading/unloading purposes and haul them over public roadways.
