About The Position

The Shuttle Bus Driver provides safe, efficient, and courteous transportation for senior residents. The role includes assisting residents when boarding and exiting, completing assigned routes and trip records, and maintaining the bus and its inspection documentation. The driver is expected to provide excellent service, maintain a positive attitude that supports team performance, and work patiently and compassionately with seniors. The schedule may be flexible and may include evenings, weekends, and holidays; occasional travel to different locations may be required.

The position involves prolonged standing and also requires sitting, walking, communicating effectively, and using hands to handle work materials and equipment. The employee may occasionally reach and lift or move up to 25 pounds. The work environment has moderate noise and requires appropriate interaction with others.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience driving a shuttle, bus, or similar vehicle.
• Chauffeur's License and a clean driving record.
• Compassion and care for seniors, with an interest in helping and working with the senior population.
• Ability to be timely, patient, and accommodating.
• Ability to maintain a bus schedule and familiarity with the local area.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to stand for long periods, sit, walk, communicate effectively, use hands to handle materials and equipment, and occasionally reach with hands and arms.
• Ability to review detailed documents and read computer screens.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents getting on and off the bus using an appropriate and safe method, which may include a lift, ambulation, or physical transfer.
• Complete the bus trip log.
• Complete required routes safely and efficiently.
• Organize and coordinate routes and priorities to maintain an efficient and productive process.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the interior and exterior of the bus.
• Complete the daily inspection log at the beginning of each trip and turn in the form when completed.
• Maintain a positive attitude that supports team performance and productivity.
• Provide transportation services to senior residents in a safe, efficient, and courteous manner.
