About The Position

The Showa Material Coordinator is responsible for the accurate tracking, staging, and coordination of ribbon materials within the Showa processing area. This role ensures continuous production flow by maintaining inventory accuracy, staging materials to prevent downtime, and coordinating closely with production, warehouse, planning, and operations management. The position requires a high level of organization, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision while complying with Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) requirements.

Requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of inventory control and material tracking; FTZ experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Stage ribbons for Showa processing lines to ensure uninterrupted production.
  • Track all ribbon inventory using scan gun technology, ensuring every ribbon is scanned and assigned to the correct location at all times.
  • Maintain 100% inventory accuracy to comply with Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) requirements.
  • Move, stage, and organize materials using pallet jacks, carts, and other approved material handling equipment.
  • Break down pallets, stage ribbons on carts, and consolidate or reorganize materials as needed to support production.
  • Pack empty reels into boxes and onto pallets in accordance with standard procedures.
  • Validate reels using scan guns and internal software systems to ensure compatibility with assigned production lines.
  • Ensure each assigned production line has a sufficient supply of Showa reels to eliminate unnecessary downtime.
  • Communicate proactively with operators, warehouse personnel, other coordinators, planning and scheduling, and operations management to ensure materials and supplies are available to support production needs.
  • Monitor material flow and escalate shortages, discrepancies, or recurring issues to supervision or management immediately.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and proper material identification within the Showa processing area.
  • Perform all work in a safe manner while following established safety procedures and good housekeeping practices.
  • Be responsible for personal safety and the safety of others in the work area, reporting any unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support plant operations and material coordination objectives.
