About The Position

The Show Choir Assistant will support the Head Show Choir Director in managing rehearsals, providing feedback to students, and assisting with various organizational tasks. This role requires a demonstrated aptitude for performing assigned duties, ethical conduct, and serving as a positive role model for students. Alternative qualifications may be considered by the Board.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Show Choir Director with managing rehearsals and providing feedback to student participants.
• Encourage skill development within a positive atmosphere.
• Assist with maintaining the costume and prop inventory.
• Assist with organizing parent volunteers for various roles including costumes, make-up & hair, chaperones, and publicity.
• Assist with the design and ordering of show choir costumes and music.
• Attend and supervise 3-5 show and/or jazz invitational/festival performances annually.
• Assist with needs related to the Show Choir/Jazz Choir Invitational hosted by the high school.
• Collaborate with the Head Music Director to coordinate securing supplemental staff such as choreographers, arrangers, and clinicians.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the District.
