About The Position

The Stage Manager and/or Show Caller provides an essential function when working on live corporate events, by calling cues and changing looks to the live show or broadcast, while working closely with other crew members who are responsible for their specific area of expertise. This role works on a per-project basis. Sometimes projects are one day, sometimes longer.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Show Caller, preferably for large or high-profile events.
  • Experience in live event corporate settings, working with high level talent and technology.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of broadcast and production technology.
  • Knowledge of A/V signal flow and contingency plans in case of technical equipment failure or last-minute changes to run of show.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to rapid show-flow changes in a live and fluid environment.
  • Excellent control room demeanor, proven leadership skills, team-first attitude and the ability to handle pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to interface with both technical and creative members of the event production ecosystem.
  • Excellent communication skills, to both clients and technical staff.
  • Ability to take a service-oriented approach to this position, with a desire to help clients achieve their best result.
  • Responsiveness to queries a must, with updates and follow-through.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as liaison between Client, Producer and production staff
  • Responsible for overall appearance of the event based on client requests relayed through the Producer.
  • Call cues for video playback, changes in PIP looks, slides, music, lighting, and presenters & speakers to stage.
  • Make calls for all changes to in-room projection, screens, DSMs, etc.
  • Execute under pressure, in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exude a calm demeanor while providing leadership skills and a team-first attitude
