About The Position

This position oversees work at various stations along the production lines processing poultry food products. The Shoulder Cutter Lead monitors employee wellbeing, coordinates bathroom break schedules, and ensures adherence to all safety requirements including PPE, preventing and reporting unsafe acts and conditions, Lockout-Tagout procedures, and Process Safety Management related matters. This role is responsible for ensuring product quality meets customer specifications, QA, and USDA standards, while also supporting all company policies and regulations. The Lead enforces food safety and foreign material prevention programs, ensures equipment runs smoothly, and maintains a clean and safe working environment. They are also responsible for maintaining proper documentation and performing precise shoulder and scapula cuts, separating breast meat, and minimizing meat left on the carcass to maintain yield percentage. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor are also part of this role.

Requirements

  • Good attendance (Less than 4 Points).
  • High School or equivalent not required but beneficial.
  • Must be willing to learn all jobs in assigned area.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Must have good basic math skills.
  • Able to work without very much supervision.
  • NO disciplinary write-ups in last 6 months.
  • Ability to work with and lead a diverse group of employees.
  • Use of both hands and able to grasp.
  • Must satisfactorily perform all qualifying jobs on a “full speed” front half for both left and right sides shoulder cutting.

Responsibilities

  • Adheres to all safety requirements including PPE, preventing, and reporting unsafe acts and conditions, Lockout-Tagout procedures, and Process Safety Management related matters.
  • Ensures that the qualities of the products are being met according to customer specifications, QA, and USDA.
  • Adheres to and supports all company policies and regulations.
  • Enforces all supported programs related to food safety and foreign material prevention.
  • Ensures that all equipment throughout the departments are running smoothly.
  • Maintains a clean and safe working environment.
  • Maintain proper documentation on required paperwork.
  • Make a precise cut on the shoulder and scapula.
  • Pull the wing down to separate breast meat from the shell.
  • Leave no bones on the breast meat.
  • Leave as little meat on the carcass as possible to maintain a good yield percentage.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Use required PPE and follow all safety guidelines of the company.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
