About The Position

The Shot Peen Operator is responsible for operating machinery to enhance the surface of parts, determining the appropriate machine usage based on customer requirements, and anticipating and overcoming production-related challenges. This role involves performing daily tests on media, running test specimens for customers, coordinating company projects, and communicating with customer service regarding processing timelines. Additionally, the operator will perform basic preventative maintenance on machines and submit requests for further maintenance as needed. The position emphasizes ensuring safe production processes, maximizing throughput, and performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or General Education Degree (Required)

Responsibilities

• Operate machine to enhance surface of parts
• Determine usage of different machines according to customer requirements
• Anticipate and overcome production-related problems, material shortages, equipment malfunctions, and unavoidable delays where possible and plan to reduce their impact on the operation
• Perform daily tests to determine size and shape of media
• Run test specimens and provide them to customers as required
• Coordinate company projects and programs designed to support different initiatives
• Communicate with customer service on recovery dates and expected completion dates for processing
• Perform basic preventative maintenance on machines and submit maintenance requests for further maintenance work
• Ensure that the production process is carried out in a safe manner according to the goals set by the company and maximize throughput
• Perform other duties as assigned
