About The Position

The Shot Peen Operator will operate machinery to enhance the surface of parts according to customer requirements. This role involves anticipating and overcoming production-related problems such as material shortages, equipment malfunctions, and unavoidable delays, and planning to reduce their impact on the operation. The operator will perform daily tests to determine the size and shape of media, run test specimens, and provide them to the customer as required. Additionally, the operator will coordinate company projects and programs, communicate with customer service regarding recovery and completion dates, and perform basic preventative maintenance on machines, submitting maintenance requests for further work. Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Operate machine to enhance surface of parts
• Determine usage of different machines according to customer requirements
• Anticipate and overcome production related problems, material shortages, equipment malfunctions, and unavoidable delays where possible and plan to reduce their impact on the operation
• Perform daily tests to determine size and shape of media
• Run test specimens and provide to customer as required
• Coordinate company projects and programs designed to support different initiatives
• Communicate with customer service on recovery dates and expected completion dates for processing
• Perform basic preventative maintenance on machines and submit maintenance requests for further maintenance work
• Perform other duties as assigned
