The Short Order Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking food items quickly and efficiently according to established recipes, quality standards, and food safety regulations. This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining consistency, cleanliness, and excellent attention to detail.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Basic knowledge of cooking techniques, food safety, and sanitation standards.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and attention to detail.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience as a line cook, prep cook, or in a similar role is preferred but not always required.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook menu items to order, including breakfast items, sandwiches, grilled items, fried foods, and other quick-service offerings
  • Ensure all food is prepared according to established recipes, portion standards, and quality expectations
  • Operate kitchen equipment such as grills, fryers, flat tops, ovens, and food warmers safely and efficiently
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation in compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Follow proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures
  • Monitor food inventory levels and notify management when supplies need to be replenished
  • Assist with food prep tasks including chopping, portioning, and stocking ingredients
  • Ensure timely preparation of orders to minimize customer wait times
  • Maintain compliance with all local health department and food safety requirements
  • Assist with opening and closing kitchen duties as assigned
