About The Position

This role involves driving to locations to deliver and/or pick up product, moving freight between terminal locations, and representing Erb Transport professionally with excellent customer service.

Requirements

  • Valid AZ/Class 1 license required.
  • Minimum 1 year verifiable driving experience on AZ/Class 1 license.
  • Meet the licensing requirements for the specific job opening.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and health survey.
  • CVOR, Driver abstract, and a copy of a driver's license must be provided at time of interview.
  • Employment reference check will be completed.
  • Drivers must be able to bend, lift, and carry freight up to 80lbs.
  • Criminal record check will be required.
  • Required to wear PPE (provided by The Erb Group).

Responsibilities

  • Drive safely in all types of road and weather conditions and temperatures.
  • Deliver freight as per schedule and company policy.
  • Perform trip planning on long haul runs.
  • Communicate with dispatch regarding pickups, deliveries, or inquiries according to department procedures.
  • Perform required pre/post-trip inspections to ensure equipment is in safe working order.
  • Communicate with the shop when maintenance is required.
  • Carry out all required paperwork according to company policy.
  • Comply with all hours of service and Ministry of Transportation regulations for all jurisdictions.
  • Use Erb systems to label, identify, and track the movement of freight, ensuring accurate delivery to the customer.
  • Load and unload product in a safe, accurate, and professional manner.
  • Comply with company regulations and operations of The Erb Group.
  • Operate the onboard telematic device, including the electronic log and communication system.
  • Attend Driver Safety meetings.
  • Perform all other duties as required.
