Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience on Slide Rail Systems and Installation.
  • Minimum 3-5 years underground construction experience.
  • Relevant post-secondary education is an asset (but not required).
  • A valid class 5 driver's license with a clean or satisfactory driver’s abstract (no more than three demerit points) and the ability and willingness to travel up to 75% of the time within Western Canada.
  • Ability to stand for long periods. Must be able to lift approximately 50 lbs.
  • Deep knowledge of underground construction equipment capabilities, soil conditions, and safe working capacities.
  • Thorough knowledge of OH&S safe working practices and applicable Federal, provincial and local requirements relative to Trench and Excavation Shoring and Shielding.
  • Comfortable using computers and learning relevant software.
  • Strong attention to detail and sense of responsibility, and the ability to read construction & engineering drawings.
  • Must be flexible and able to manage multiple priorities, shifting gears as needed in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Self-starter who can work effectively independently but also as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills and a professional, courteous approach in interactions with customers and colleagues.
  • Ability to drive accountability for safety by influencing behaviours, building relationships, and gaining buy-in across job sites and customer teams.

Responsibilities

  • Service customers and cultivate opportunities that lead to increased profitability.
  • Provide full range of services to new and current customers, including needs assessment, quotes, problem solutions, and follow up quality checks.
  • Educate customers on slide rail systems through demonstrations and training.
  • Provide on-site installation and technical support.
  • Coordinate with engineering teams and the sales team during the design process.
  • Loading and unloading trucks.
  • Inspect returned engineered systems (SR, beam, plate, sheets, hydraulic shoring), red tag, and cycle through the service workflow.
  • Rotate equipment from the wash bay to the service bay to prep and paint, and back into the service line.
  • Communicate equipment damage to branch manager right away to be promptly serviced.
  • Stay in constant communication with direct reports, welder, wash bay and painter to ensure equipment is always moving into service and ready to be deployed on your next project.
  • Communicate parts requisitions to shop lead for purchase.
  • When necessary, help the yard team to wash/clean equipment, maintain clean physical facilities and organize equipment.
