About The Position

This role involves general maintenance and repair, part runs, shipping, receiving, painting, janitorial services, and other duties as assigned. The position requires the ability to drive throughout the San Francisco Bay Area, assist with shipping and receiving, operate a forklift, and perform housekeeping services for the warehouse. The job also involves working near or on boats and barges using mechanical tools, working outdoors in all weather conditions, and being on your feet all day while lifting up to 50lbs frequently. The role requires flexibility as communications are taken 24 hours a day, including weekends, concerning vessel maintenance, repair, and operations. The individual must be capable of making decisions and giving directions to facilitate prompt service delivery, and frequently board tugs, barges, and ships in all weather conditions and at all hours.

Requirements

Valid California State drivers' license and clean driving record required.
Comfortable driving throughout the San Francisco Bay area in traffic.
Must obtain TWIC within 60 days of hire.
Ability to work with others using courtesy, tact, and good judgment.
Ability to understand and execute oral and written instructions.
Ability to work independently with minimal or no guidance.
Must be able to read, speak, write, type, and understand English in person and over the telephone.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Required to work near or on boats and barges using mechanical tools.
Required to work outside in all weather conditions.
Must be capable of working on feet all day and lifting up to 50lbs frequently.

Nice To Haves

Experience in the maritime industry preferred.
Mechanical knowledge preferred

Responsibilities

Drive to deliver and pickup parts as instructed throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.
Assist in shipping, receiving, and yard facility maintenance.
Transport materials and equipment using a forklift.
