About The Position

As a Shopify Solutions Architect at DemandPDX, you will provide technical leadership across the full lifecycle of enterprise Shopify engagements, from pre-sales and discovery through architecture, implementation, launch, and ongoing optimization. You will work directly with prospective and existing clients, our sales team, project managers, business analysts, designers, and engineers to design scalable Shopify solutions for larger and more complex brands. NOTE: We are only accepting applicants with significant Shopify Plus and enterprise eCommerce implementation experience.

Requirements

• 5 years of experience in developing and customizing Shopify-based e-commerce solutions, preferably within an agency or consulting environment.
• Proficiency in Shopify platform architecture, including themes, Liquid, APIs, and app development.
• Strong expertise in front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive design principles.
• Experience leading and managing a team of developers, with a collaborative and client-focused approach.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with clients, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
• Strong problem-solving abilities, with a track record of analyzing complex issues and delivering innovative solutions.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies, project management tools, and version control systems.

Nice To Haves

• Shopify Developer certifications (e.g., Shopify Plus Certified, Shopify App Developer Certification) are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide eCommerce strategy and guidance for clients wanting to replatform to Shopify.
• Collaborate with clients, account managers, and creative teams to gather requirements, define project scopes, and recommend technical solutions.
• Architect and implement custom Shopify themes, features, and functionality tailored to the unique needs and branding of each client.
• Develop and maintain Shopify apps, integrations, and third-party services to enhance e-commerce capabilities and user experiences.
• Conduct code reviews, enforce coding standards, and ensure adherence to best practices across projects.
• Proactively identify technical challenges, propose innovative solutions, and implement effective resolutions to optimize client outcomes.
• Stay updated on Shopify platform updates, industry trends, and emerging technologies, and leverage this knowledge to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance throughout the project lifecycle, from planning and estimation to execution and delivery.
