The Shop Tech position is an entry-level role within the Mesa Maintenance Shop, offering a dynamic environment for technicians to gain valuable experience in various mechanical trades. This hands-on approach involves assisting with housekeeping tasks, participating in fuel system cleaning, and parts replacement, all while working closely with experienced leads, inspectors, and mechanics. This role aims to develop essential skills and provide a solid foundation for career growth within the maintenance industry.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
0-1 year of relevant experience.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers.
Able to work independently and ensure tasks are completed with little supervision.
Ability to work under stress in high pressure situations.
Able to handle frequent interruptions and handle conflict in an effective manner.
Ability and willingness to learn new processes and business functions to facilitate the mission.
Possesses the ability to be a team player.
Adaptability and ability to work in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
Possesses a positive and energetic self-starter attitude, with excellent drive, ambition and work ethic.
Ability to communicate ideas effectively and maintain deadlines.
Must be able to pass a WorkSTEPS physical.
Willing to consent to and pass a background check and drug screening.

Nice To Haves

Trade school or College Program graduates in Automotive/Diesel/NG.
Honorably discharged service veterans preferred.

Responsibilities

Assists and participate in routine inspections and make modifications to natural gas engines and generators.
Performs load testing on units to identify possible problems.
Makes electrical and mechanical wiring modifications to control circuits.
Tests batteries, fuel, coolant, and oil; ship oil samples for analysis.
Completes all assigned tasks directed by shop mechanics.
Document work performed and reported any abnormalities or concerns to supervisors.
Collaborate with team members to achieve shop goals and objectives.
Clean and maintain work areas and equipment to ensure safety and efficiency.
Assist with inventory management and parts replacement as needed.
Learn the Shop Tech I checklist and become proficient.
Basic LB understanding.
Go through the Shop Tech Course and pass the course.
Performs all duties as assigned.
Assisting with housekeeping tasks.
Participating in fuel system cleaning.
Participating in parts replacement.
