About The Position

Lonestar Forklift is looking for a mechanically inclined Shop Technician (Heavy Equipment Mechanic) to join our Service team in Odessa, Texas. Reporting to the Service Manager, the Shop Technician will be assigned to a variety of machinery repair tasks required by our loyal customers. Lonestar Forklift is a customer-focused material handling equipment dealership with over 30 years of proven success and numerous branch locations across Texas. Requirements

  • At least 5 years of heavy equipment or automotive repair experience in a related industry
  • Experience with hydraulics and diagnosing and servicing electric engines is a strong asset
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to partner effectively with external customers and internal stakeholders
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and strong aptitude for learning and applying mechanical and technical concepts
  • Strong work ethic and a positive attitude
  • High school diploma
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to customer sites in the region is required

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant Trade Certification is an asset
  • Previous aerial platform and lift truck experience an asset

Responsibilities

  • Performing mechanical maintenance on a variety of material handling equipment and machinery
  • Diagnosing and completing equipment repairs in a timely manner, providing a variety of repair options that best meet customer needs
  • Tracking parts for ongoing service jobs
  • Completing work order forms
  • Communicating with the Shop Coordinator, Shop Lead, Service Manager, and Technical Support Center regarding service jobs and repair needs
  • Proactively identifying maintenance and repair opportunities for equipment
  • Following established warranty processes
