About The Position

The Shop Technician is responsible for performing mechanical services on customer and company equipment in the shop. This role involves diagnosing and repairing heavy construction, farm, or material handling equipment to meet customer needs and company goals. The technician will work independently and with the Shop Foreman or Service Manager to determine repair requirements, order necessary parts, and complete repairs in a timely and effective manner. Accurate timekeeping and adherence to safety regulations are crucial.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in performing mechanical service on heavy construction/farm or material handling equipment.
  • Ability to diagnose equipment problems.
  • Skill in ordering parts and managing parts inventory.
  • Accurate timekeeping.
  • Possession of personal tools for work up to ½” impact size.
  • Knowledge of and compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations.
  • Ability to maintain a clean work area.
  • Team player attitude and willingness to assist others.
  • Ability to use and care for company-provided tools (¾” and above).

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical service on customer and company equipment in the shop.
  • Perform mechanical work on heavy construction/farm or material handling equipment to correct problems.
  • Diagnose equipment issues and determine necessary parts and tools.
  • Order parts from the parts department, maintaining a record of orders and following up on arrival.
  • Complete time records accurately for each job.
  • Provide personal tools for work up to ½” impact size and use company-provided tools for ¾” and above.
  • Work safely at all times and comply with all OSHA and other relevant regulations.
  • Maintain a clean work area.
  • Assist other mechanics as requested.
  • Perform any other required duties.
