About The Position

Impact Fire Services is seeking a Shop Technician to join their dynamic team. This role involves servicing and performing regular maintenance on fire extinguishers and other fire protection products. The technician will ensure all maintained products are in optimal working condition, complete tasks assigned by the Shop Foreman, and meet weekly productivity goals while prioritizing quality, service, and safety. The position also requires maintaining a clean and organized workstation and a safe working environment. Occasional delivery of fire extinguishers to customer sites may be required.

Requirements

  • Ability to learn required processes for servicing and maintaining a variety of fire protection products.
  • A valid driver’s license and a current and sustainable good driving record.
  • Ability to perform physical activities outlined in accompanying physical requirements checklist.
  • A strong work ethic and professional appearance.
  • Working habits and personal appearance which are both neat and well organized.
  • Ability to adhere to, implement, and follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Applicable experience in the fire protection industry.
  • A basic level of competency and comfort with mechanical fittings, hand tools and power tools and other light machining equipment.
  • Prior experience servicing and maintaining Fire Extinguishers is a plus.
  • Fire Extinguisher license is a plus.
  • Successful completion of a drug test and pre-employment background screening is required. MVR checks are required for all driving positions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage their time to complete the maximum amount of service and maintenance.
  • Achieve any weekly productivity goals assigned by the Shop Foreman.
  • Protect and maintain company equipment.
  • Work in a safe manner as outlined by company safety procedures including the driving, personal protective equipment, and lockout/tag-out policies.
  • Protect the Company’s Assets.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by the Shop Foreman.
