About The Position

Opifex-Synergy is seeking a Shop Technician for their Houston, TX location. This role is responsible for managing all in-shop, repair, maintenance, and test tasks for equipment. The technician will diagnose errors, determine solutions, and ensure the proper working condition, maintenance, repair, and communication of equipment on branch property. Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of diesel engines and construction equipment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair, and service technical equipment.
  • Must have own tools.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts and adapt to changing schedules.
  • Military service will be considered in lieu of education/certification experience as applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoots and diagnoses all types of equipment to ensure proper working condition.
  • Performs routine equipment clean-up and upkeep, as well as safety review and pre-delivery inspections.
  • Inspects, diagnoses, repairs, reconditions, and adjusts heavy equipment as required.
  • Completes all paperwork on the equipment to which the individual is assigned.
  • Participates in all training programs directed by Manager.
  • Brings to the attention of the Manager any shop tools, equipment, or vehicle that is not in a serviceable condition or unsafe to use.
  • Maintains tools in good working order per MSHA and OSHA regulations.
  • Completes basic computer tasks including completing work orders, looking up parts, and communicating via email.
  • Communicates with coworkers to ensure top quality equipment is always available and customer expectation is exceeded.
  • Ties workflow to schedule.
  • Manages all on-site installation, repair, maintenance, and test tasks.
  • Diagnoses errors or technical problems and determines proper solutions.
  • Produces timely and detailed service reports.
  • Operates vehicle in a safe manner and uses field automation systems.
  • Follows all company’s field procedures and protocols.
  • Cooperates with the technical team and shares information across the organization.
  • Comprehends customer requirements and makes appropriate recommendations/briefings.
  • Must be able to and willing to help train and assist other technicians in need of assistance.
