In this role, you will be responsible for: Setup, tack-weld and weld components in flat, vertical or overhead positions according to specifications Cleaning, grinding, and degreasing surfaces using grinders, wire brushes, or sanders before and after welding Using plasma cutters or oxy-fuel torches to cut metal to size Checking completed welds for defects, bead size, and conformity to blueprints Perform basic maintenance on welding machines, wire feeders, and torches Disassemble and inspect a wide variety of pumps, gearboxes, and other rotating equipment and provide recommendations for repair Provide complete service report, specifying parts and labor required to repair for quotation purposes Assemble units according to manufacturer specifications and tolerances Clean, organize, and maintain shop and shop equipment Participate in continuous improvement through training and associate development Various other responsibilities as needed We are a fast-paced, customer service-oriented company that is ahead of our competition. Requirements

  • A certificate in welding from a technical school or community college is highly preferred, with AWS (American Welding Society) or similar certifications
  • Knowledge of working with various metals, including carbon steel, aluminum and stainless steel
  • 5+ years experience in MIG, TIG, or stick welding along with mechanical pump and rotating experience
  • Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings and work orders
  • Proficiency with measuring tools, including calipers, micrometers, fillet gauges, etc.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle daily changes in schedule and priorities
  • Must be able to stand for majority of workday and lift up to 75 lbs
