About The Position

As a Shop Tech II on our Quality Inspection team, you will perform inspections, examinations, and tests according to documented procedures and industry practices. You will be an Individual Contributor who conducts routine analyses and tests of different components of a quality control program in the production lines and tests of in-process materials and finished products to ensure conformity to specifications. You will follow standard procedures and will have to communicate information that requires little explanation or interpretation. You will report to the Assistant Area Manager of I&CE Operations and will be based out of our New Stanton, PA facility. This is an anchor position that is required on site 5 days per week.

Requirements

  • High School degree or equivalent
  • 2+ years relevant experience with demonstrated electrical, mechanical, machining or inspection skills.
  • Specific knowledge of electrical or mechanical drawing, or machining plus required mathematics.
  • United States Department of Labor Journeyman Certification
  • Qualification and certification for Inspection to ANSI N45.2.6 Certification to Visual VT-1 Mechanical Experience with Inspection of electrical parts
  • IPC-610 and IPC-620 certifications and experience

Responsibilities

  • Perform the inspections, examinations, and tests according to documented procedures and industry practices.
  • Plan inspections, examinations, and tests.
  • Set up tests, including related equipment.
  • Oversee and maintain surveillance of inspections, examinations, and tests.
  • Train lower-level personnel.
  • Report inspection, examination, and test results.
  • Evaluate the validity and acceptability of inspection, examination, and test results.
  • Determine if the calibration status of inspection and measuring equipment is current.
  • Determine that the measuring and test equipment (M&TE) is in proper condition before use.
  • Ensure that the inspection, examination, and test procedures are approved before use.
  • Follow up quickly and consistently to bring issues to closure, set challenging goals and achieve measurable results. Resolve problems and seek opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Complete and maintain applicable site specific safety training including Electrical Safety; Radiation safety; Hazards communication; Respiratory protection; Lifting/Handling; PPE Use. Complete certifications as applicable; train to job applicable procedures.
  • Physically measure the product with measuring & testing equipment.
  • Basic setup and operation of 3D Coordinate Measuring Machine and 2D measurement systems.
  • Operate Electrical Test Equipment.
  • Operate Test Panels.
  • Visual inspections per design documents.
  • Crimp, Solder, and assembly verifications per design specifications and standards.
  • Look for defects in the product.
  • Manage work related to deliveries including scanning/reviewing inspection files against customer requirements, completing packaging and labeling requirements.
