Your Role in Synergy's Success This person will be responsible for testing incoming raw materials, intermediate products, and finished product samples, as well as exhibiting the ability to lead cross-functional teams and support programs. How You Will Contribute This role is 2nd shift 2 PM to 10:30PM M-F

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in a related field Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, or Food Science/Technology and/or Business related with 1-4 years of experience or Highschool Diploma with 3-6 years of Laboratory/Flavor industry experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products. (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience/certificates in HACCP, FSP, ISO 22000, SQF, BRC, or equivalent Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) criteria preferred.
  • Experience with QC related instruments such as pH meters, refractometer, densitometer, colorimeter, GC, and auto titrators preferred.
  • Experience analyzing and interpreting information/data preferred.
  • Experience presenting findings to department leads preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead primary program and communicate findings/status to relevant functional groups.
  • Support multiple programs to ensure site adherence to quality, food safety, and organizational objectives.
  • Provide timely and consistent communication between internal cross functional groups to support day to day operations.
  • Lead, maintain, and conduct training of relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) with QC Team members and cross-functional partners.
  • Make recommendations for revisions to SOPs to Laboratory Management as needed.
  • Initiate beginning steps of quality investigations, by reporting issues to more senior quality laboratory personnel to support in finding the true root cause.
  • Perform daily testing of all raw materials, intermediates, and finished products, ensuring they are tested in accordance with established SOPs.
  • Responsible for ensuring laboratory and production records are in compliance.
  • Discern sensory/organoleptic differences between tested raw materials, intermediates, and finished products for flavors and flavor chemicals.
